PPP (public-private partnership)
Public-private partnerships, or PPPs, are becoming an important procurement method for large infrastructure projects. Due to their complexity, PPPs require more detailed project preparation in order to achieve appropriate risk sharing with the private sector. Direct funding support for PPPs was made available for the first time in the 2010 TEN-T Annual Call for Proposals. In line with the priorities of the Transport White Paper released by DG MOVE in spring 2011, more emphasis will be given to the development of PPPs within the TEN-T.
