The E6 road between Trelleborg and Vellinge is a bottleneck on the TEN-T corridor connecting Sweden with continental Europe via the port of Trelleborg. The existing road section is a 12 m double road in need of upgrading. This project includes rebuilding of 9.6 km of road in partly new, but mostly existing alignment.
Although not linked directly to any Priority Projects, this project has significance to other initiatives. First, it is located to the south of Priority Project 12, the Nordic Triangle rail/road axis. It is also closely related to Motorways of the Sea activities between Sweden and Germany which aim at further development of an intermodal freight corridor with the ports of Trelleborg, Sweden and Sassnitz, Germany as main hubs.
This project has been completed.
