This action is part of Priority Project 3 (High-speed railway axis of south-west Europe) and comprises a key element for the corridor which connects the Madrid-Segovia-Valladolid high- speed line with the Basque country high-speed line.
The Valladolid-Burgos-Vitoria high-speed line will be made up of two electric tracks of international width or UIC (1,435 mm), with rails of 60 kg/m, that together with the rest of the superstructure, will be placed on a platform with a width of 14m. It has been designed to reach a maximum speed of 350 km/h, with maximum slopes of 25 thousandths per metre.
The proposed action is structured into three activities namely:
- Track bed works. Subsection: North Valladolid Link-Cabezón de Pisuerga
- Track bed works. Subsection: San Martín de Valvení-Venta de Baños Link
- Track bed works. Subsection: Torquemada-Quintana del Puente
State of progress on 31 December 2011:
The construction works in all three subsections has been finalised. Environmental integration measures are ongoing.
