This project aims at achieving interoperability of Slovenian public railway infrastructure, as part of the implementation of ERTMS (European Rail Traffic Management System) along the Corridor D, running through Spain, France, Italy, Slovenia and Hungary. ERTMS is composed of a unique European Train Control System (ETCS) and radio system GSM-R, designed to replace the existing incompatible national systems throughout Europe.
The outcome of this study will be a national GSM-R implementation plan including all necessary documentation for its further implementation. This includes:
- Engineering and consulting tasks for preparing the GSM-R system users
- General plan of implementation of GSM-R on the Slovenian railway network
- Definition and working out of technical, functional and system specifications
- Preparation of the tender documentation
- Preparation of the project investment and environmental protection documentation
State of progress on 30 June 2012:
The general plan of implementation of GSM-R on the Slovenian railway network has been prepared. The definition and preparation of technical, functional and system specification has been carried out. The GSM-R radio frequency network planning was completed. The tender documentation and the project investment and environmental protection documentation are in preparation.
