IBUK – intermodal corridor |
The proposed action aims at improving MoS capacity along a corridor from the Iberian Peninsula to the UK. The proposed action's main objectives are to increase modal shift from road onto the Spanish Hinterland rail network and to improve the efficiency of the link in the multimodal transport chain of this corridor; in particular ensuring that the MoS route from Bilbao to Tilbury has suitable infrastructure, superstructure and information technology to handle the forecasted increase in cargo volumes.
In this respect "IBUK" – Intermodal Corridor will focus on:
- Rail infrastructure for a new Port-Railway logistics terminal in El Prado, Spain
- Infrastructure at the Port of Tilbury to ensure efficient handling of freight
