The Action regroups and coordinates in a unique project framework several activities aimed to support the MoU’s (ERTMS Memorandum of Understanding of 4 July 2008) implementation. The MoU’s implementation is to be considered as the "Global Project".
The activities of the Decision aim:
- to coordinate the overall project
- to support the actions of the European Railway Agency (ERA) in the field of technical and operational harmonisation
- to support the international Freight Corridors in the ERTMS Field
- to provide a baseline 3 on-board prototype for testing
- to improve the testing phases, of both specifications and products, in order to increase the effective interoperability
Certain activities of the Action represent the continuation of the activities already started and carried out within the framework of the EU co-funded TEN-T project number 2007-EU-60040-P.
State of progress on 31 December 2011:
The project is progressing according to schedule. Several important deliverables are already available in the form of technical reports/opinions, updates/reviews of the subsets and test cases.
