The overall objective of the Action is to develop the cluster of North Adriatic ports (Ravenna, Trieste, Venezia, Koper, Ancona and Monfalcone) into a multi-port Gateway capable of providing - as a whole - an efficient system, competitive services and improved cargo interoperability and thereby attract increased cargo flows.
The Action consists of studies focused on the development of a multimodal and multiport gateway, connecting the Adriatic Corridor to EU mainland logistic platforms as well as supporting the development of strategic links by sea in Mediterranean and Black Sea areas, based in particular on MoS developments.
As part of the studies, models of excellence will be identified to orient the development of a competitive multiport Adriatic Gateway, covering all the relevant aspects of port and logistics operations. Then the Adriatic Gateway will be designed on the basis of the different models of excellence; integrating the Gateway in the inland multimodal transport and logistic network in Europe. Finally, a feasibility assessment of the project will be performed and an action plan will be drawn.
This Action will be carried out in synergy with project 2010-EU-21106-S "ITS Adriatic Multi-port Gateway".
