Upgrade of Roma-Napoli and Torino-Novara high speed lines in order to ensure compatibility with ERTMS version 2.3.0d

The project aims at upgrading the trackside system of high speed lines to ERTMS (SRS 2.3.0d, ETCS L2) with the following objectives:

• Gradual interoperability of network components
• Optimisation of the capacity and efficiency of existing infrastructure
• Improved safety and network reliability

The project includes distinct phases of development, implementation, test of ERTMS applications between two different suppliers (Ansaldo-Astom) and certification. It encompasses the following activities:

• Upgrade of ERTMS/ETCS on Roma-Napoli high speed line;
• Upgrade of ERTMS/ETCS on Torino-Novara high speed line.

This project has been cancelled.
