New AV/AC line Venezia-Trieste-(Lubiana) in Italian territory: sections project

The project concerns the preliminary design for high speed track of the railway section Venice-Trieste. In detail, are concerned the following subsections:

• from Venice Mestre to the underground Venice Airport station and Quarto d'Altino
• from Venice Santa Lucia to Venice Airport
• from the underground Venice Airport station to Bivio Dese

The project, closely correlated with project 2004-IT-90905-S concerning other sections on the same alignment, is part of the Priority Project 6 (Railway axis Lyon-Trieste-Divaca/Koper-Divaca-Ljubljana-Budapest-Ukranian border). As such, it contributes to shorten travel times for high speed passenger traffic.
