This project involves the reconstruction of the dam at Chatou, located 10 km downstream from Paris. It is situated on the main river route that links greater Paris to Belgium and the Netherlands, as well as to the North Sea via Le Havre.
The development includes the dam itself, a fish ladder, a generating station and the realisation of maintenance cofferdams with storage areas. The dam's particular functions are to:
- contribute to the development of river transport
- maintain the water upstream for navigation purposes, by ensuring a minimum anchorage
- free up the maximum passage of water, in case of a flood
- allow navigation during periods of high water in two of the three phases of the work, when the dam has been removed
- improve the safety of operation- restore the continuity of fish breeding in the Seine
This project has been completed.
