Extension of the Grand Canal du Havre |
The Action consists of preliminary studies and public consultations as part of a wider project aiming at the improvement of traffic inside the port, in particular improving access for barges to and from the port to the Seine River. To do so, the port intends to extend the existing Grand Canal du Havre to connect it to the Canal de Tancarville (the main link between the Port du Havre's internal waterways and the Seine River) and allow a two-way circulation inside the port.
The studies to be carried out are divided into three categories: environmental, technical and socio-economic. Their output will be fed into a project document presenting the main caracteristics of the infrastructure project and forming the basis for public consultations. The consultations to be held under the Action will be decided and orchestrated by the Commission Nationale du Débat Public.
This project has been completed.
