Widening to six lanes the motorway section Ayia Varvara-Nicosia

This Action includes the upgrading of the Nicosia-Limassol motorway (A1) section from Nicosia to Ayia Varvara. The project consists of three main activities:

• upgrading and widening of existing bridges
• increasing the existing lanes from two to three
• construction of new grade-separated junction

It also includes installation of safety barriers, landscaping and other services.

After realisation of the project, the 11 km section will be widened to a six lane highway, a new grade-separated junction (Great Alexander Avenue) will be constructed and the existing Tseriou and Kotsiatis junctions will be expanded. 

This project has been completed.
