Technical assistance for restoration of design parameters along Ruse-Varna railway line


The project aims at the preparation of the necessary studies for the rehabilitation of the Ruse-Varna railway line in northeast Bulgaria that connects the river port of Ruse and the sea port of Varna.

 

The improved railway line will contribute to eliminating bottlenecks in the interconnections in the southeastern region of the EU, as well as those in neighbouring EU countries. An optimal combination and integration of the various modes of transport and improvement in the capacity and efficiency of the existing railway line will also be achieved.

 

The project includes the elaboration of:

  1. Needs assessment study
  2. Environmental impact assessment and cost-benefit analysis
  3. Technical design
  4. Procurement strategy, tender documents
