ERTMS deployment on Corridor B (Stockholm-Naples) Austrian vehicles


The main objective of the Action is to achieve railway interoperability on the main section of ERTMS Corridor B by retrofitting certain number of freight locomotives with ETCS onboard units.

 

The implementation of the Action will contribute to the increase of the TEN-T railway network interoperability and in particular to the successful ERTMS deployment in the EU.

 


 

State of progress on 31 December 2011:

The technical specifications and contractual tasks have been completed. One prototype of "1216" type locomotive has been retrofitted and tests have started. The authorisation procedure has been defined. Retrofitting of "1116" type locomotives is ongoing.
