Click map to view enlarged version

 PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project links eastern Member States through a major railway axis. Completing the axis will improve connectivity between all the networks on the basis of common standards. This axis is the only connection from southeastern Europe (and Greece) to the heart of the EU.

Some sections have been already completed - in Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary and Greece - and works on the remaining ones will start only after 2013.

Mr Gilles Savary was nominated European Coordinator for this Priority Project in June 2010.
